Twelve years in the cradle of jazz -- New Orleans -- afforded Ed the opportunity to learn and absorb the style and feel of what he and his fellow New Orleans musicians prefer to call “traditional jazz” (often referred to as “Dixieland”). In March of 2005, just five months before Hurricane Katrina brought her devastation to the Crescent City, Ed assembled seven of the city's finest players in the traditional style to record a CD of his own arrangements, transcriptions and adaptations of early jazz music.

Bringing the library of music from this recording session with him to Philadelphia, Ed now offers to the City of Brotherly Love the finest traditional jazz heard on the East Coast.

Ed is currently accepting bookings for this great 8-piece ensemble.  To book him, e-mail him at ed@edwisemusician.com or phone him at 215-279-0617. Ed is also a PennPAT roster artist - if you qualify as a PennPAT presenter, you can apply for a grant to assist your organization in having Ed and his band perform at your venue.  If you would like to receive Ed's newsletter which includes his upcoming schedule, email your request to him.
